The
thunder of icebergs calving off majestic glaciers - a sea of penguins
tobogganing and waddling across snowy slopes - whales spy-hopping
ahead of your kayak. These are moments that stay with you forever.
Antarctica – the purest wilderness on earth - a place of ethereal
beauty and the ultimate destination for an adventurous spirit.
Join us on our brand new expedition to the awe-inspiring Antarctic
Peninsula aboard our safe and comfortable 48-passenger expedition
ship - specially designed and built for Polar conditions. We have
teamed up with a some of the most experienced hands polar exploration
to provide you with these once-in-a-lifetime adventures.
Here
at the ice-bound edge of the world, the abundance of wildlife is
overwhelming. On frequent land and water excursions we experience
it up-close: massive penguin rookeries, five seal species including
the leopard seal, most of the world’s whale species and a
profusion of seabirds from the mighty wandering albatross to the
delicate tern.
We travel through an other-worldly landscape at the best time of
the astral summer, when conditions are usually calm and mild, ideal
for exploration and photography. With zodiacs or kayaks we cruise
past calving glaciers, get close to nesting sea birds and, if we’re
lucky, see whales breach close by. Ashore, we observe penguins with
their young, hike up volcanic slopes for astounding views and visit
scientific research stations. And for those of us who feel particularly
adventurous there will be a chance to camp out on the ice overnight
and feel the thrill and audacity of early explorers of the White
Continent.
THE
ULTIMATE EXPEDITION -
Antarctica,
South Georgia and the Falklands
19-day
trip with sea kayaking option
This
far reaching expedition to the islands of the South Atlantic Ocean
and the Antarctic mainland brings 18 days of eye-popping exploration.
On foot, in Zodiacs, or, as an option, from the cockpits of kayaks,
we see penguins by the thousands in enormous rookeries, behemoth
icebergs reflecting startling greens and blues, humpback whales
feeding on krill and - as a grand finale - the sweeping, continent-sized
ice sheet of the White Continent.
