Goering’s passion for travel has led to a lifetime
of exploring and working in many far-flung corners of the
world. After
acquiring his first camera at the age of 16, Dag began shooting
and developing black and white images under the guidance
of his father, a professional photographer. Since then,
the camera has been his constant companion on many adventures.
More than 500 of Dag’s images have been published in books,
calendars and prominent newspapers and magazines including
National Geographic Adventure , Action Asia
, New York Times , Manchester Guardian
and Outdoors Illustrated . His work was recently
featured in a solo exhibition at the Banff Centre.
“Photography
allows me to become more intimate with the world around
me. It teaches me to see clearly; to use this miraculous
capability that we call vision more fully. I strive to make
honest images, images that aren’t staged. Ultimately, when
I connect with my subject’s fundamental nature, I hope to
channel the magic of that moment through the lens to the
heart of the viewer.” |
