Season’s Greetings!

This is a invitation to join us on two new adventures in 2025 that we will personally lead.

Scouting the trip with our amazing local guides on Crete.

We recently returned from a recce trip in Greece, where we carefully crafted a new walking itinerary. After getting feedback from our core of regular guests we decided to focus on Crete and offer Santorini as a 3-day pre-trip extension.

Maria and I both know the Greek islands from when we were backpackers – several decades ago!  And of course we have since led many kayaking trips on both the Ionian and Aegean Seas. Has it changed? Of course. But we were amazed to discover that beyond the touristy spots, the old Greek spirit is alive and well – and this is where we will take you.

Crete was a new experience for both of us, and we were blown away! Even for Greeks, Crete is considered wild and untamed, a world of its own. Arid mountains crashing into the sea, cut through by lush gorges. Out of the way traditional villages. Remains of the Minoan culture, which was wiped out when Santorini erupted thousands of years ago. And genuine hospitality that is off the map.

Our trip reveals Greece in a unique way, taking you to very special places and people. And why April?   Because we will beat the crowds and cruise ships, the weather is cool enough for hiking, the landscapes are verdant, and wild flowers abound.

Maria and I will both be along on the inaugural trip, in April 2025. We hope you can join us!

Dream Trip – Northwest Passage

Traversing the Northwest Passage has been a dream for which many explorers were willing to risk their lives. Now we can do it in safety and comfort aboard a state of the art expedition ship.

This 15 day journey (Sept 7 to 22nd) takes us into the wilds of the Arctic, far from the craziness of the rest of the world. Apart from shore excursions, wildlife viewing from zodiacs and watching the aurora borealis, we will be offering creativity workshops and  one-on-one coaching sessions to our Hidden Places guests.
